This website is sponsored by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and was designed for them as an online self-study resource for the collection, processing and analysis of archaeogeophysical data. Archaeogeophysics.org is a collaborative wiki tool that enables archaeologists and geophysicists to share information about the use of near surface remote sensing in the study of the archaeological record. This web site was built by the Program in Archaeological Science under the direction of Dr. Carl Lipo an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology .
